Import tasks from CSV, pasted rows, or JSON

Preview and map imported data before creating tasks.

Prepare your data

The importer accepts CSV files, spreadsheet rows pasted as text, and flat JSON task objects. File imports are limited to 5 MiB and 5,000 rows. Extra fields have separate limits: up to 20 extra columns and 500 characters per extra value.

Import

  1. Open the target project and choose Import tasks….
  2. Select CSV, Paste, or JSON and supply the data.
  3. Map the columns to task fields. Check date interpretation, assignee matching, and unmapped fields.
  4. Review the preview and any warnings before confirming.
  5. Check the result summary and verify a sample in All Tasks.

Rows beyond the row limit are dropped with a warning; split a large source before importing. External imports create new tasks. Reimporting a source should not be treated as updating the original records.

Where the importer offers Undo for an external import, review what it will remove. Internal worksheet or task-source operations have different behavior and should not be treated as CSV import undo.
