Connect an n8n instance

Connect an n8n instance to Node Cluster, test access and select workflows. Understand why synchronization, migration and credential rotation are separate.

Before you start

Have the n8n instance URL, an appropriate API key, and permission to manage integrations. Your n8n account and key must allow the operations you intend to use.

  1. Open Integrations and add n8n.
  2. Enter the instance details requested by the connection dialog.
  3. Use Test Connection and resolve the reported URL or credential error if it fails.
  4. Complete the workflow selection and registration options offered by the setup flow.
  5. Review the resulting connection and synchronized resources.

Treat synchronization, workflow migration, and credential rotation as separate capabilities. They have distinct permissions; connecting an instance does not grant all three.

If a workflow is missing, check the connected instance, selected resources, API permissions, and latest synchronization outcome. Do not rotate credentials as a first response to a missing selection.
