Use All Tasks as your project work list
Find, create and update work in a Node Cluster project’s All Tasks view. Follow tasks from its canvases without creating duplicate records.
Open a project’s All Tasks view when you want to work through its task list. It combines project tasks across canvases and the incoming pinned tasks included by the view. “All” refers to this project view’s scope, not every task in the organization.
Add the first tasks
- Open the correct project and select All Tasks.
- Use the task capture row to enter an action, such as Confirm customer launch date.
- Create the task, then open its details or use the row controls to add the information you need.
- Set a responsible person, a status, priority, and useful dates where allowed.
- Add a description with the expected outcome and any essential context.
Create one task for one outcome that can be owned and updated clearly. Put a conversation about progress in its notes rather than creating a new task every time the plan changes.
Find the right work
Use Search tasks…, the available filters, and Group by to narrow the list. Start by clearing old filters if an expected task is missing. Then filter by assignee or status for the review you are doing.
For a daily personal review, find your assigned work and inspect overdue or upcoming commitments. For a team review, include unassigned work so it does not disappear from attention. Check a task’s actual project or canvas context before editing a task that arrived through a pin.
Update the work as it happens
Use Open for work not yet underway, In progress for active work, Blocked when progress is stopped, and Done when the agreed outcome is complete. Explain a blocker in a progress note—for example, “Waiting for the customer’s approval; Morgan will follow up on Thursday.” A status alone rarely tells the next person what to do.
Task updates remain subject to project access and the task assignment policy. If you can read a row but cannot change its assignee or details, check those rules before assuming the interface is broken.
Switch views without making copies
Open Board to review the applicable task set by status, or Canvas to work with visual context. Another view can use a different scope or filters. Do not recreate a task simply because it is absent from that view.
Incoming pinned tasks retain their home context and access rules. A pin does not transfer the original task to your project or grant permission to edit it.
Check missing work carefully
Clear search and filters, confirm the organization and project, and inspect the task’s home context. Check cancellation and other view-specific exclusions. Large task sets can also encounter current view-loading limits; the known-limits guide explains the reviewed implementation. An empty or shorter list is not proof that tasks have been deleted.
